The Processes

Pretreatment

Pretreatment is the first step in wastewater treatment or drinking water production plants.

Biological Treatment

Biological water treatment is frequently used for wastewater treatment.

Separation

The separation of floc occurs in both drinking water and wastewater.

Filtration

Filtration is mainly used in the treatment of drinking water but also in the tertiary treatment of wastewater.

Disinfection

This involves disinfecting the water by destroying the pathogenic microorganisms present in order to make it suitable for human consumption or for discharge into the environment.

Sludge

The sludge generated by water treatment, whether from wastewater or drinking water, must often be thickened (gravity or dynamically) or dewatered to reduce its volume.

Odors

Odors are one of the consequences of wastewater and sludge treatment (digestion, composting).
