Filtration

Filtration is mainly used in the treatment of drinking water but also in the tertiary treatment of wastewater. This consists of separating the fine particles from the water using media, by micro-sieving on canvas or on a membrane. Conventionally, filtration is carried out on media of different particle size (sand, anthracite, activated carbon) installed on false bottom floors allowing them to be washed. Fabric filtration is carried out on special resistant fabrics with low porosity. Membrane technologies use membranes with even finer porosity depending on the removal sought, either Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration or Reverse Osmosis.
